Week 3
HI. Updating refinements on dynamic content
This blog will be sharing ideas on executing dynamic content ideas for the microsite.
Dynamic content research
In order to know what kind of dynamic content that I should be delivering to users, I have to go through some research. My thoughts were:-
- content that is relating to travelling
- content that is relating to nature places
- content that is specifically based in Malaysia
I summarized my thoughts and decided that delivering information about weather, climate, and seasons would be the most ideal to users. Especially with Malaysia's unpredictable rainy and sunny days.
Dynamic content planning:
First time users
- fetching data based on their location by using the Geolocation API
Returning users
- fetching data based on previous actions
- filtering functions
- visited content
Dynamic content analysis
Dynamic content ideas
First-attempt: Appear as a pop-up box in the landing page, delivering seasonal information or recommended places
Feedback: This is workable but it is not appealing, as it will be blocking and distracting the assets in the homepage
Suggestions from advisor: Maybe can play with the scene at the back to deliver the information
Thoughts:
I am glad to receive this suggestion, as it suddenly inspire me to utilize the background graphics to deliver dynamic content. I will definitely look into it more!
Refinements
Second-attempt: Considering working with the assets at the back, however, still need to provide substantial information, was thinking of providing it at the corner and users get to access it if they are interested.
These are the current ideas and progress in executing the dynamic content of the microsite.
That's all for now, in the next blog will be the technical updates of the week.
